Shapemaker
I really like unusual geometric shapes and wanted a web app that I could explore them with, and be able to export and 3D print them. That's how Shapemaker came to life.

Shapemaker is a browser app for exploring geometric forms. You start with a base shape, give it dimensions, choose hollow or solid, adjust walls, openings or distortions such as jitter, truncation, smoothing and subdivision. It can export the results in STL or SVG format, and export models to JSON for later import again.

An SVG model imported into Inkscape for printing or plotting.

The exported mesh, rendered with raytracing.

A model prepared for printing in two halves, with supports that will be removed before the halves are glued together.

Some examples of models I printed, sanded and painted in different colors and finishes.
It's quite easy to use, and I've been adding a lot of new shapes and tuning features to it. It can currently export an STL already oriented for printing, as well as an SVG perspective line rendering. You can share a design via a unique link or save it as a project file and pick up where you left off. There's no backend; it's just an HTML/JS app.
